Indications and Dosage
Oral
Bronchodilator Adult: Initially, 1-2 mg bid, increase to 2 mg tid if necessary. Child: 1-6 yr: 0.25-0.5 mg bid, 6-10 yr: 0.5-1 mg bid, 10-14 yr: 1-1.5 mg bid. Transdermal Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease Adult: 2 mg as transdermal patch once daily. To be used with anti-inflammatory therapy.

Contraindications
Phaeochromocytoma.

Special Precautions
Hyperthyroidism, myocardial insufficiency, arrhythmias, susceptibility to QT-interval prolongation, hypertension and DM.

Adverse Reactions
Fine tremor of skeletal muscle, palpitations, muscle cramps, tachycardia, nervous tension, headache, peripheral vasodilatation, hypersensitivity reactions.

Drug Interactions
Increased risk of arrhythmia with digoxin. Hypokalaemia with concomitant admin of xanthines, corticosteroids and diuretics.

Description:
Mechanism of Action: Tulobuterol is a direct-acting sympathomimetic with selective action on β2-receptors. It is available orally, as a inhaler and as a transdermal patch. It is given as the hydrochloride by mouth and the base as transdermal formulation and inhalation. |
